Abstract (en)
Publishes correspondence by Louis XIV and Malvasia relating to the former's gift to the latter of the so-called Gioiello della Vita (owned by S. Maria della Vita, Bologna; now in the care of the Collezione Comunali d'Arte). The jewel, which can be dated ca.1678-1681, consists of a central enamel with the portrait of Louis XIV by Jean Petitot, surrounded by a silver frame containing 68 diamonds which has been attributed to Montarsy.
