Documents the history of a project for a French museum of architecture featuring collections of models, casts, relief maps, and pictorial views amassed in the late 18th-early 19th cs. The project was partially realized at various sites in Paris in the early 19th c., but the collections were gradually dispersed throughout the later 19th and 20th cs. Examines the special museological problems and principles attendant upon museums of architecture.
