Abstract (en)
Notes that art has long been complicit with the interests of entrepreneurial real estate, and cites recent examples in Chicago's 32d ward and elsewhere in America where artists have played a key role in the gentrification of city neighborhoods. Also cites the work of two native American artists, Edgar Heap of Birds and Richard Ray Whitman, who address the displacement and undermining of tribal society by white culture.
