Abstract (en)
Quantities of environmental material were recovered during monitoring of dredging operations on a moat dug in 1323, and gave valuable evidence on the immediate environment and surrounding landscape. The site is a royal manor (hunting lodge?) and produced remains of field crops and other finds. Bridge piers and timbers were also seen.
