Abstract (en)

Personal reflections on the recently restored Sussex farmhouse called Charleston, and the lives of its inhabitants Vanessa and Clive Bell, Duncan Grant, their children, and other relatives and friends, especially members of the Bloomsbury group. Describes Charleston's much-decorated interior, noting that it is a monument to the Bloomsbury way of life.
