Abstract (en)

An exhibition devoted to the Lithuanian-born painter at the Albertinum, Dresden (6 May-24 June 1990) prompts this discussion of the artist's life, his stylistic development, and his themes. Segall emigrated to Brazil in 1923; the majority of the exhibited works were lent by the Museum Lasar Segall in São Paulo.
