Discusses two pieces made by Adam Weisweiler [Weisweiller] and supplied to the royal household by Daguerre in 1784: a secretary (private collection) and a writing table (Paris, Louvre). Both pieces are inlaid with lacquer panels and these are traced to a Japanese export chaise d'affaires or close stool of ca.1640.
