Abstract (en)
Considers a group of clocks created in the last quarter of the 18th c. by Benjamin Vulliamy. The clocks have cases of white marble enriched with ormolu and Derby biscuit porcelain figures. Discusses these porcelain figures as miniature examples of the best English neo-classical sculpture, and identifies four leading sculptors as modellers: John Bacon I, John Deare, Charles Peart and John Charles Felix Rossi.
