Abstract (en)

Discusses a book of 80 transcribed tombstone inscriptions and heraldic memorials, 14th-17th cs. (Munich, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, MS Clm. 1339). Predominantly 15th c., the memorials were all to be found in the Baumburg monastery complex prior to 1660. Several that still exist are compared with their manuscript counterparts, and a stylistic and sociological analysis based on the manuscript is presented.
