Abstract (en)

Re-examines the hypothesis of a Mosan origin for the late 12th c. bronze door, an isolated example of Romanesque art in Poland. Suggests other stylistic sources, including Bavarian manuscript illumination. Discusses the iconography of the reliefs, scenes from the life of S. Adalbert of Prague, and reviews hypotheses on the dating and circumstances of the commission.
