Abstract (en)
Madingley Church nave windows representing paint and stain figures of the Emperor Charlemagne, and a composite female figure made up from unrelated figures of Charity and Justice are attributed to Dierick Vellert and related to a composite panel of Fortitudo formerly at Warwick Castle. Suggests probable series of Worthies and female Worthies and Virtues. Warwick and Madingley glass, dated between 1517 and 1526, also provides evidence for Vellert's hand in all periods of glazing in the King's Chapel, Cambridge, from the 1515-1517 period to 1540-1542.
