Abstract (en)
During renovation of a barn in Church Lane, a fragment of bone carved with ring-plait interlace and animal terminations, probably part of a box dating broadly to the 10th c. and perhaps associated with Scandinavian presence, was found in proximity to what appears to be the remains of a foundation slot of a pre-Conquest timber building.
