Discusses happenings in Finland in the 1960s. Focuses on the first happening titled Helsinki Street Piece, which took place in 1963 and was organized by Henrik Otto Donner, Ken Dewey, Terry Riley, and members of the Helsinki Student Theater. Notes that all Finnish happenings were scripted and sometimes rehearsed, and that in contrast to theater the performers always represented themselves instead of characters.
