History of the house known as the Casa degli Specchi (79 via Vescovado) in Padua, built ca.1502 by the architect Annibale Maggi da Bassano, with all'antica sculptural decorations attributed to Alessandro da Bassano. Examines Livy's associations with Padua, especially the discovery of his remains in 1413; and argues that the house was known as the house of Livy in part because the Maggi wanted to trace their lineage back to antiquity, and the name of Livy's son-in-law was Lucius Magius.
