Surveys the production and chronology of Honthorst's period in Italy, ca.1610-1620; discusses works in Roman churches and private collections and in the Uffizi (Florence), and presents several unpublished works in Genoa, including Christ Crowning S. Teresa in S. Anna (formerly attributed to Castellino Castello), two paintings in the Palazzo Reale, and one in a private collection. Considers relations between Rome and Genoa in the early 17th c., and suggests that the artist may have worked in Genoa.
