Questions the dependability of Natter's attributions in the Museum britannicum (a catalogue of ancient gems in British collections), in view of problems concerning gems assigned by him to the collection of Thomas Hollis. Discusses Hollis's collection and evidence concerning it in his Memoirs and in the 1807 catalogue of John Disney senior's collection.
