Study based on both popular and high art sources and on avant-garde and conservative rhetoric, showing that during and after World War I avant-garde art colluded ideologically with conservative ideas of moral unity, order, and reconstruction, participating in the retrenchment of culture and the prevalence of the ideology of the Right.
