Drawing on her own experiences as a feminist artist and activist, Lacy discusses a number of ideas that informed American feminist art making in the 1970s, and asserts that those same issues are still pertinent to the creation of feminist art today. Contends that feminist theory must be tied to political activism if feminist art is to have the power to impact society.
