Abstract (en)

Draws attention to the importance of Konrad Gesner's bibliography of books and manuscripts on the arts of architecture, sculpture, and painting contained in his Bibliotheca universalis (Zürich, 1545-1548), as a guide to humanist sources for ancient art and as one of the earliest attempts to produce a scholarly bibliography of sources on art. Includes facsimiles of pages from Book VI: De geometria.
