Survey of recent literature on Italian renaissance pottery. Notes new information on the production of Castelli, especially the establishment of this as the origin of the Orsini-Colonna apothecary jars. Briefly discusses the late 15th c. Faentine majolica tile pavement of S. Petronio, suggesting that the tiles may have been made in 1487. Also comments on issues regarding ceramic production at Deruta and Gubbio, in relation to the catalogue of Umbrian majolica, 15th-19th cs., in the Museo Internazionale della Ceramica, Faenza. Finally, presents and comments on a selection of recent bibliography on the subject.
