History of the Dalcroze school of rhythmic gymnastics and its establishment in Hellerau, the first German garden city, founded by Karl Schmidt. Comments on the influence of Hellerau on Le Corbusier, on Batka's plan for the musical education of the community, and on the association between Dalcroze and Appia. Focuses on Tessenow's design for the Institut Dalcroze complex, especially the theater.
