Reviews the exhibition Leaving portraits from Eton College (London, Dulwich Picture Gallery) which centers on those portraits of themselves presented (to the Head Master) by distinguished Etonians 18th-19th cs. upon their leaving school. The tradition has been revived in the last 10 years.
