Describes and interprets an album of photomontages assembled in 1943 by a member of the Jewish underground, Aryeh Ben Menaḥem, using photographs of life in the Jewish ghetto in Łódź taken by Mendel Grosmann. Lost during the Holocaust, the author attempts to reconstruct the album based on reproductions found in several public and private collections.
