Discusses the 10th c. Byzantine-Lombard binding, made of gilt silver worked in relief, on the 4th c. evangeliary of S. Eusebius (Codex Vercellensis Evangeliorum) in the cathedral treasury of Vercelli. The binding was the gift of one of the Lombard kings named Berengarius, either Berengarius I (active 886-913) or Berengarius II (reigned 950-961).
