Describes an early Medieval capital (found in Ravenna in 1990 and stolen shortly thereafter), with a cross between two acanthus leaves, and compares it to other examples, 8th-11th cs., of the stampella ("crutch") type, in which the upper plane protrudes over the lower plane.
