Discusses the work of the American painters who in 1897-1898 formed the group known as The Ten (a group associated with the Impressionist style): Childe Hassam, John Twachtman, William Merritt Chase (who joined after Twachtman's death), Edmund Tarbell, Frank Benson, Joseph De Camp, Robert Dewing, Edward Simmons, Willard Metcalf, Robert Reid, and J. Alden Weir.
