Text features an introduction by Perry T. Rathbone and eight essays. Six essays dealing with aspects of Maurice Prendergast's career and oeuvre are authored by Milton W. Brown, Carol Clark, Nancy Mathews, Gwendolyn Owens, Dominic Madormo, and Charles Parkhurst. Ross Anderson and Carol Derby contribute essays on Charles Prendergast.
