Abstract (en)
Examines the theory and use of color in French Neo-Impressionist painting from the scientific perspective of what is known about color today. Focuses on the painter Signac, who fostered the technique of divisionism and was the principal adherent and spokesman for the Neo-Impressionist movement. Includes the first English edition of Signac's treatise on color and technique, From Eugène Delacroix to neo-impressionism, translated from the third French edition (H. Floury, Paris, 1921) by Willa Silverman.
