Abstract
(en)
Argues that two panels of grisaille stained glass, ca.1325 (New York, Cloisters), formerly thought to have come from Notre-Dame, Paris, were originally part of the chapel of S. Louis at the abbey church of S. Denis. Outlines the history of the church and its windows, especially the removal of the glass in the late 18th and early 19th cs., and the restoration that began in the 19th c. On the basis of tracings, ca.1850, by Just Lisch, proposes a reconstruction of the glazing for the church.
