Abstract (en)
Looks at the nine portraits of Margaret in 30 books that she owned or are associated with her patronage. Argues that she was "the first Burgundian duchess to develop a distinctive portrait image, one that shows diverse aspects of her religious character: her devoutness, her spirituality, and her charity. To effect this portrayal, she borrowed to a degree from the Burgundian prototypes provided by the dukes, but also created wholly new iconographies."
