Abstract (en)
Examines Margaret of York's library of manuscripts (which are in every case illuminated) in an attempt to determine if, as a whole, it offers a particular coherence, style and taste, both literary and moral. Concludes that Margaret "did not wish to be an intellectual or a humanist; nor was she curious about culture; instead, she simply wished to be devout--with simplicity, with faith, and with devotion."
