Account of the life and work of Margarete Marks (1899-1990), born Margaret Heymann, who began her career as a potter at the Bauhaus, established a successful pottery with her first husband Gustav Loebenstein, and emigrated to England in 1935, where she worked as a freelance designer and independent studio potter and painter under the name Greta. Her work is represented by a group of pottery presented to the City Museum and Art Gallery at Stoke-on-Trent.
