Abstract (en)
Excavation of a house platform and part of a hollow way yielded information on a medieval settlement. Extensive areas of flint cobbling, traces of three buildings, and an oven were found. An earlier medieval phase of occupation was represented by a pit containing 12th c. pottery. Sherds recovered dated mainly from the 12th to early 14th c. Pottery also established Roman presence in the area, and indicated Late Saxon origins of the settlement.
