Draws attention to effects of receding planes revealed by recent restoration of Giotto's Ognissanti Madonna (Florence, Uffizi) and to evidence in the picture suggesting that it was intended to be seen from the left; argues that it was not executed for the high altar of Ognissanti (Florence) but was placed on the altar at the right of the door of the tramezzo.
