Abstract (en)

Discusses 14th-16th c. mural paintings and 15th-16th c. sculptures depicting S. George, mainly fighting the dragon. Deals with one exception, a mural of the Martyrdom of S. George, 1500-1525 (Broager parish church), by Peter Ly..kt. States that hospitals for lepers in Scandinavia and north Germany were called "S. George houses" after the patron saint of lepers.
