Discusses five Medieval representations of S. Thecla of Iconium, all in eastern Jutland. The saint is conventionally shown between two lions. Unambiguous representations of S. Thecla include the Lisbjerg Altar (Copenhagen, National Museum), until now the only known depiction of the saint in Denmark, and three tympana in churches in Gosmer, Todbjerg and Astrup. The author argues that a figure of indeterminate sex in a tympanum at Låsberg also represents the saint. Compares similar representations of Daniel between two lions in other Danish churches.
