Discusses effects of the popularity of contemporary art by Australian Aborigines and the growing market for such work in First World countries. Argues that although exploitation is a concern and a reality, Aboriginal art ultimately serves to empower those that produce it, fostering Aboriginal efforts for cultural self-determination and self-perpetuation.
