Critical look at the Docklands Development Project, an upscale, urban, riverside redevelopment plan east of London, initiated by the British government in 1981. Applauds the activist roles assumed by local Docklands community organizations opposing this project, especially the activities of the Docklands Community Poster Project, which evolved out of the practice of artists Peter Dunn and Lorraine Leeson. Finds hope in the victories won by these groups, which are focusing on the needs of the local residents.
