Describes three periods in the history of Charterhouse, London: the Carthusian monastery (1371-1537); that of the Tudor mansion (1545-1611); and that of the present foundation, the Hospital of King James in the Charterhouse, commonly known as Sutton's Hospital, concentrating on the chapel (1611 to the present day).
