Interprets Witz's painting illustrating the biblical scene of S. Peter fishing, Miraculous Draught of Fishes (Geneva, Musée d'Art et d'Histoire). Cites reasons for Lake Geneva as the setting, and the relation of the work to Amadeus VIII, duke of Savoy, and the Council of Basel, which elected him pope in 1439 (Felix V).
