Review of the recent Metropolis exhibition, Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, organized by Christos Joachimides and Norman Rosenthal. Describes the exhibition as a perfectly conceived show which anticipates the art of the 1990s, but cites one significant handicap--most of the 76 artists shown have grown tired or cynical and have few visions or utopias left to offer the viewer.
