Co-guest editor's statement introduces this issue of the Art Journal which is devoted to questions of art and censorship and the current urgent need to confront such questions in the arts community. Dedicates this issue to retired American Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr., known for his interpretations of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and the free-speech doctrine that informs it.
