Abstract (en)
Presents the recent legal case involving Indianapolis art dealer Peg Goldberg and the ownership of four pieces of a Byzantine mosaic stolen from a Cypriot church which Cyprus is attempting to recover. Highlights the application of Indiana and Swiss common law in the case, noting that they provide adequate solutions for the need to protect dispossessed owners of stolen cultural objects despite the absence of specifically tailored rules.
