Describes a virginals made 1664 by John Player of London, perhaps for Charles II. The instrument carries a branded inventory mark "WP" which likely stands for Whitehall Palace (London). The virginals was deaccessioned from the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague in 1991 and has been acquired by the author.
