Abstract (en)
Describes the house at Abinger Common near Dorking, built 1898-1900 to designs of Edwin Lutyens with a garden by Gertrude Jekyll. Goddards was originally built as a guest house for "ladies of small means"; Lutyens converted it to private use in 1910. The house was recently given to the Lutyens Trust.
