Fourteen artists are represented in the two-part exhibition (7 Oct-4 Nov, 11 Nov-9 Dec 1990, followed by a European tour). Catalogue essays discuss the history of video installation in Britain and its reception, exploring its time-based nature and relation with other media, and women artists use of sound which addresses the socio-sexual implication of speech and audition.
