Abstract
(en)
An account of how the marginal art of manuscripts served to gloss, parody or otherwise comment on the text is followed by an exploration of the way marginality functioned in medieval culture, showing how these irruptive forms (in manuscripts, sculpture, buildings), were sustained by the absolute hegemony of the system they sought to subvert.
