Abstract
(en)
Questions the traditional boundaries between literary and visual analysis in a series of close analyses of works by Rembrandt (including works with questionable attribution), and texts related to those works. Also studied is the artist's handling of gender and representation of women. Although most concepts are derived from visual analysis and literary theory, terms of analysis from feminist theory, rhetoric, narratology and psychoanalysis are also used. Includes indices of names, titles and subjects.
