Attempts to identify the current location of the Frankish castle known as the Grand Magne (built ca.1228). Looks anew at the available evidence (especially the ca.1340 Chronicle of the Morea) and seeks to review it both systematically and from an overtly geographical standpoint. Examines the claims of four sites in the Máni which are serious contenders. Concludes that Kelephá [Kelefá] appears to fit the criteria but that, while the balance of probability is in its favor, only an archaeological or archival discovery will clinch the argument.
