Abstract
(en)
Examines the features of 12th-13th c. sculpture in Campania which distinguish it from Romanesque sculpture elsewhere in Italy. Problems discussed include the evolution of sculpture in Campania from a close study of local antiquities; the important influence of the abbey of Monte Cassino; the sculpture of the cathedral of Salerno; and the patronage of Frederick II.
